Comment: SmartBoard offer actually the best as a Clipboard and Organizer tool. 
It is not a Freeware but include a free version V 2.6 , trough personal experience, shows to have many problems of coexistence with other programs under Win98.  
Smartboard free version don't allows to reinstall your tree organization after it crash, obliging eventually you to buy the program.

Comment: The organizer capacity is far below SmartBoard, but it is more stable and more efficient in multiple formats pasting. You find it in the freeware category, but it is, in fact a US$ 15 shareware, giving eventually a tolerance to use it without registering.
It is anything wrong for asking money for a good job, but definitely dishonest to list as a Freeware, that is en reality a Shareware and worst a Free Trial Download.

  The Yankee Clipper III

The Yankee Clipper III (YCIII) is a Windows 9x/NT4.0/ME/2000 clipboard memory/stacker that resides in the system tray. It acts as a silent sentry, continually watching the clipboard, waiting for a change in the text contents. 

If a change is detected, YCIII saves a copy of the clipboard contents in the event you may want to reuse it. Clicking on the little clipboard in the system tray brings the Yankee Clipper to the top or makes it visible if it was hidden. Double-clicking on an item in the list, or selecting with the arrow keys and hitting <Enter> will place that item back in the clipboard.

I do remain, a Clipboard radical maniac, frustrated of not having yet found the near  ideal free clipboard tool after trying most WWW free offer.

Clipping and effectively, managing the organization of the clipped data, is a essential aspect for any sort of researches activities in the Web.   

A functional synthesis of the different advantages presented by Smartboard 2000, Skwyrul Pro and Clipboard Pile would makes a superbe tool.

Finally KeyNote 1.3.3  come close to excellence

Skwyrul PRO is basically a very powerful, fast and compact information manager. It is very easy to use and runs on Windows 95/98, NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. The basic idea of this program, is to store notes in a tree like structure, with quick searching and retrieval. The note size is only limited by your PC's available memory!

Warning: about the version prior the last 4.0
That is not a bug, but an user's eventual natural mistake: When you click on the first left side icon, instead of the second one, to reopen "general", you can eventually replace the actual "general” multiple Mg's note's folder with a new clean empty "General" one, in a couple of Clicks! And get your mistake "backup" in real time.. Just be very careful.
Skwyrul is really a very sophisticated freeware. If you have an important asset of notes in Skwyrul, use Mehul’s Backup or an other, for your security.

IC3 is a useful Freeware-Utility. You can make notes and save them easily. The tool has a calendar and many fields,
where you can store, for example, to-do-lists or dates. You can enter your bookmarks in IC3 and launch them with a double click, too. A integrated search function allows it to find your entries. A number of skins are available,
to change the surface the way you prefer.
All in all, IC3 offers you an easy way to enter and manage your dates, addresses and notes at one place.

Dropper is an excellent tool that allows the user to easily and quickly retrieve and insert text into web forms, word processing documents, e-mail, or any other program that, before Dropper, had to be retyped over and over again. Dropper is a snap to use. Simply place your cursor where you want to insert text, click on the Dropper button and like magic the text appears in your document saving you time and effort.

Comment: Dropper is actually the only freeware available to replace the excellent TypeItIn that many abusively present as a Freeware

Easy office from E.Press offers a decentFree version of their commercial software. Not a avaricious lousy trial version. It is really an amazing pack of well designedtolls.

Easy Office text editor also includes sophisticated spell, thesaurus and style in many languages, a particular reason for personal appreciation.
They offer many programs as freeware (ie, free + no functional limitations* + no time limitations) to individuals.
Downloading EasyOffice Freeware (33 or 45 MB) require a self-recovering download utility to download large files (and avoid a 'corrupted file' error message). The Opera Browser from Denmark, Freeware version do perfectly the job

A clipboard likes function "copy to" is missing in the great set of functions. The "search and replace" is not the best.

Comment: A Great Freewaretool, however it require some serious efforts to check at the utilities based on clipboard function
The "find and replace" function allows to works with large churn of text.
An exceptional tool,  for exceptional usage. A eventual improvement of the user interface would makes Note Tab more accessible for the novice.
